This Thursday, January 14th, the General Director of Energy Planning and Natural Resources, Paula Uría, held a telematic meeting with representatives of the Galician mining sector to evaluate the news that the future law of economic reactivation of Galicia will entail.
The meeting was attended by representatives of the Galician Slate Cluster, Arigal, the Granite cluster, the official college of Geologists of Galicia, the associations of Spas and the granite from the province of Ourense, the School of Engineering of Mines and Energy of the University of Vigo, of the Mining Chamber, of the official colleges of Northwest Mining Engineers and of Technical Engineers and degrees in mines and energy in Galicia.
In her speech, the objectives of the future law were exposed and the sector welcomes as a positive initiative for the development of mining activity in the community,. The General Director explained that the main objective of this regulation is to “Convert our Community into a good place to invest, through a more agile administrative procedure and which in turn ensures the maximum legal, urban and environmental guarantees.
It is estimated that the processing time for a project will be reduced by a third from the current time. Hereby, “the objective of being a more agile, modern Administration that responds better to the challenges facing Galicia is achieved,” according to Consellería de Economía (Galician ministry of Economy).
